  • What do YOU really want?

  • Have you ever taken some time to really think about what you want in life and which direction you want to take?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer is no.  Sometimes we get so caught up in pleasing others or getting respect and acknowledgement from them that we often forget about the most important person. In case you don’t know who I am referring to, I’m talking about you.

This article is to encourage you to think what you want, not what others expect of you, or how they think you should live your life, but how you want to spend your days.

Now you may say; “I know what I want, but it’s not plausible.”

My response to that would be is there a way to make your dream a reality. I am a strong believer on where there’s a will there’s a way. Anything is possible if you just believe.

The first step to figuring out what you want is to believe in yourself. Not your actions. If you believe in yourself then you’ll know that you’ll have it in you to do whatever it takes to keep moving forward.

If you believe in yourself then nothing will hold you back.

Believing in yourself also means you’ll trust your instincts and yourself over others.

Change can be frightening and challenging to go against what we have been taught; especially when you are hit with negativity and surrounded by others who do not understand your plight to live the best life you can.

Don’t let others beat you down. Those who put you down and dismiss your ideas are probably afraid of the change that will come. Honestly it says more about them than you.

Once you have convinced yourself that you are unstoppable and can do anything, start thinking about what it is you really want. Sit down with a pen and paper and just free flow whatever comes up; don’t judge it just go with it. Paint or draw your ideal life, construct a dream board, do something physical that will help you clear the cob webs and think. No matter what strategy you use or are comfortable with, do it. Spend some time figuring out what will make you happy.

A few questions to ask yourself in this discovery phase if you are stuck are:

    What Do I enjoy?

    What am I passionate about?

What do I want from life?

    What will make me happy?

What person do I want to be?

Is there someone you wish you were?

Who do you have to be to transform your dream into reality?

What do you have to do?

We never really take the time to sit down and ask ourselves these questions. In fact we rarely get asked these questions. So is it any wonder we feel stuck in a rut that we can’t get out?

Standing up to yourself and others will be challenging and may give you the greatest pleasure. The scariest and frightening things in life can also be the most rewarding. Chasing dreams isn’t always easy but I believe we all have it within ourselves to turn our dreams into reality.

Stop trying to fit your foot in other’s shoes. You do not have to follow in their footsteps. You are unique to you and there is only one of you in this world.

Set your own rules, surround yourself with supportive up lifting people, give it everything you have, model someone else and just be who you are.

There are many ways which you can turn your dreams into reality. The biggest one is be true to yourself, be honest and be who you are. Show yourself to the world and let yourself shine.

Before you can put any plan into action, you first need to know what it is that you want.

Stop hiding away. Make the first step to accomplish your dreams

It’s never too late to start fresh.

Start living your life today by doing what makes you happy.
