  • So last time I talked about understanding your feelings and get to the root cause of the stress; as you may feel overwhelmed due to the amount of emotions running through your system.

In this article I’m going to specifically focus on being overwhelmed due to the amount of tasks we have to complete in such a short time and how to live stress free in today’s world.

When you are feeling overwhelmed and bogged down with too many activities what do you to feel more organized?

Obviously there are different methods out there, they range from listing the task from importance and crossing the off when complete, to scheduling time

More often than not we tend to just push things aside; which can be good time management when you need to complete important tasks.

We tend to put of the things we don’t want to do off and then before you know it that assignment you have putting off is due and you have that test tomorrow which you haven’t studied for.

So does procrastination add to the stress?

In some cases I believe it does. I am a strong believer in don’t put of what you can do today for tomorrow, because if you do you won’t end up doing and then all of a sudden that particular tasks is extremely urgent.

So don’t add more stress to your day by putting off the things you need to do

If you have important things that need to be completed; schedule in a time that will work for you to do what ever you need to.

We often take on too much than we can chew. In these cases know your limits. Now you may say “I don’t have limits” but we all do. It is ok to say no. You do not have to please everyone. There is only one person in life you need to please and that’s yourself.

If you feel like you have taken on more than you can handle, see if there are any tasks that you can delegate. Although you are a hero, remember you don’t have to do everything yourself. You may look at everything you have to do and think or know you can’t delegate tasks as you need to complete them. If this is the case look at your list and see if there is anything you can remove.

There may be a time where you cannot delegate or remove tasks and that’s where the scheduling comes in.

Stop being a perfectionist. Being a perfectionist and wanting to complete everything by yourself will definitely contribute to the stress. Remember almost everything can be delegated or removed. With that in mind don’t take on unnecessary tasks.

You already have a full plate with the fast paced environment we live in. There is also no reason to take on any extra worry or stress

Focus on you and your life. Stop comparing how you live your life to others. Remember no one’s journey is the same as yours. It’s like Cinderella; that shoe only fit one woman in the whole kingdom. Yes I’m sure there were plenty of women you had the same shoe size but that glass slipper only fit one woman.

So the message there is that even though we try no one can compare. We all have our own glass slippers that are unique to only us.

Don’t worry about what others and doing. Do what you know you can do.

As mentioned in the last article ensure to have YOU time. Spend time relaxing and having fun. Ensure you are eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and getting enough sleep.

Relaxation, diet, exercise and sleep are all important factors as if you are not getting enough sleep, nutrients or blood flowing through your body than this can cause anxiety, stress and depression. I am still a strong believer in taking some time for yourself. If you are not taking down time and relaxing it’s no wonder you are full of stress and so worked up. If you don’t relax then you are not at your best and cannot perform tasks at 100%

So for all you workaholics out there, your drive and will to succeed is admirable, remember you have to relax, if you don’t you’ll eventually snap.

Listen to your body. It will tell you if something is not right.

At the end of the day it comes down to being happy with who you are, knowing your limits, relaxing, live a healthy life, don’t put things off and know you are doing the very best you can.

We all fall down at times; don’t beat your-self up. Falling down is a learning process; we fall so we can learn to get back up.

Remember you are amazing and can accomplish anything you set your mind too.

Have a wonderful stress free life.
